ADVANCED COURSEWORK Curious About Your Credits?
Advanced Placement
Students who take Advanced Placement (AP) courses and complete the accompanying AP exams are awarded credit based on the score and course equivalent as determined by the appropriate Mercer academic department. Applicants should request an official score report from The College Board be sent to the Office of the Registrar. Get an idea of how your credits will transfer.
Credit is also awarded for examinations administered by the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Credit is awarded for scores at the 50th percentile or higher on the general and/or subject exams. CLEP credit will not be awarded if a student has already taken the equivalent college-level course. Get an idea of how your credits will transfer.
High school students who have advanced their education through dual enrollment at a college or university accredited by an institutional accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education are awarded credit based on the grade(s) they received and the course equivalent as determined by the Office of the Registrar. Students who have dual enrolled are considered first-year students and should complete the first-year student application.
Mercer awards credit for scores of 5, 6, or 7 on the Higher Level examinations of the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). Score reports should be included with the student’s final high school transcripts or provided by the IB Office.

| Students may receive up to 32 hours of credit from all extra-course examinations, including AP, CLEP, and IB. |
